Required Documents for State FSSAI License

1. Rental Agreement of Business Premises.

2.ID Proof of the Concerned Person (Aadhaar Card / Driving License / Passport / Voter ID)

3.If any Government Registration Certificates (Company Incorporation Certificate / Firm Registration / Partnership Deed / Pan card / GST Registration Number / Shop and Establishment Registration / MSME/UDYAM Registration Certificate)

4.If the applicant is a private limited company or partnership firm then they should provide MOA & AOA or Partnership deed copy

5.For applying for State License any One of the following certificates is compulsory (Trade license, Shop and Establishment Registration, Panchayath License, Corporation License, Municipality License)

Required Documents for FSSAI Central License

1.Rental Agreement of Business Premises.

FSSAI launched Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) wef 1st June 2020 replacing the existing Food Licensing and Registration System. A Food License Registration certificate is required to run a food product business. You have to register under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to manufacture, distribute and transport food products. FSSAI is established under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI has been established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. FSSAI Certificate and FSSAI License are the same which ensures the quality, purity, and other important factors the customers can rely upon.

The FSSAI license number is a 14 digit number that provides the information about the manufacturer license FSSAI number provides the registration details FSSAI logo will be displayed by the brand owner with his license number on the label of the food package. The importer shall display The FSSAI logo and license number along with the name and address of the importer in the case of the imported food product.

Registrations are granted to small or petty FBOs whose annual turn- over does not exceed Rs. 12 lakhs

Registrations are granted by the Registering Authority who may be Designated Officer/ Food Safety Officer or any official in Panchayat, Municipal Corporation or any other local body or Panchayat in an area, notified by the State Food Safety Commissioner

Documents required while applying for a Registration: –

Registration Card should be exhibited at a prominent place of a business premises.

The primary step for FSSAI Food safety Registration and Licensing is identifying the nature of the business structure. There are various kinds of business like Manufacturer, Repacker, Retailer, Distributor, Supplier, Marketer, Importer, Exporter, Ecommerce, Wholesaler, Restaurant, Canteen, Mess, Food vending establishment, Food vending agencies, Petty Retailer for Tea and Snacks.

For a change of any information contained in the License or registration certificate – Form C, the fee equivalent to the fee of one-year new license or registration is applicable. No fee is required for modification of non – Form C details.

The FSSAI license or registration cannot be renewed if it is not applied within 30 days from the expiry of the license/registration. Once the license/registration is expired, the FBO has to apply afresh.

After a period of 3 months from the date of cancellation under Regulation 2.1.8 (3), the Food Business Operator may make a fresh application for Registration or license to the concerned authority if all observations made in the improvement notice have been complied with.

Respond to the queries raised by Licensing or Registering Authority within 30 days. The application for the editing/modification shall be available on the dashboard of the applicant. If an applicant does not respond to the queries of Licensing or Registering Authorities, the application will be rejected.

As per in „FSS (Licensing & Registration) Regulations, 2011, Licenses and Registrations are granted to FBOs in a III tier system i.e. Registration, State license, and Central License. Eligibility Criteria is available on the homepage of the Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS).
